Candidate for
Board Member; San Carlos School District

I am a parent, former PTA president, long-time community volunteer and business leader. I also have a life-long passion for creating strong public schools.

I spent the bulk of my 20s working to make K-12 schools be great. In college, I worked in the Philadelphia schools district and supported outstanding leaders on big education reform initiatives (like how to support new principals). When I was 25, I moved to Oakland and worked full-time for two years with a non-profit group to improve the Oakland public schools. I researched best practices and was a voice for low-income families. I then received my Masters in Education Policy, and my MBA from Stanford.

In my 30s, I started my 20+ career in business working for companies like The Learning Company (educational software), Intuit, Google, and start-ups. I offer you strong leadership skills to "get things done". I honed my ability to build teams, listen deeply to different stakeholders, and make good decisions.

In my 40s, I began actively volunteering in our schools. I have been "in the trenches" serving as PTA leader of my local elementary school. I'm now running for the School Board as a way to "give back" to San Carlos and put my life-long passion for education and skills to good use.

I'm proud to be widely considered as the "most experienced candidate" in this election cycle.
