Candidate for
Board Member; San Carlos School District

I believe that the core of the District's education mission is the learning that takes place when we bring our students together with our educators.

My goal will be to listen to our educators to understand and support their needs, as well as be a voice of the community. In San Carlos we are lucky to have ~150 hard-working, dedicated classroom teachers along with important staff members like special education teachers, reading specialists and more. I am meeting 1x1 with teachers to understand their lives, their needs -- and hope to have an ongoing conversation over the course of the next four years.

As a 20+ year business leader, I have the skills and experience to keep our District fiscally responsible and hold our District accountable to the goals we set before ourselves. I know how to balance budgets and pledge to spend our dollars wisely -- on programs that work and that have positive results. I will also work with the District to create new sources of revenue.

I believe that creating strong public schools is a "team sport". I will work hard with a diverse group of folks (parents, the community-at-large, district staff, teachers, and partner organizations like SCEF and Healthy Cities) so -- together -- we work towards making San Carlos Schools be excellent.
