I am a consensus builder, an experienced negotiator, and a community leader. I am an advocate for many and look forward to serving you as a member of Azusa City Council.

I am a community volunteer and am the Chair of the Azusa Human Relations Commission (HRC). For over 9 years, I worked collaboratively with community volunteers (Commissioners) hosting events and forums such as Hands Across Azusa, Cafe con Leche, Lead in Harmony Leadership Conference, and Get To Know Me. These events have benefited thousands of Azusa residents and are coordinated with local organizations such as Azusa Unified School District, Azusa Pacific University, Citrus College, Rotary Club, Azusa Renaissance Theater and many community volunteers. As a commission, we've done great things for Azusa with dedication, teamwork and partnership. We work hard to make a positive impact for all residents of Azusa. To date, these events have saved lives and positively impacted our youth. Our goal is to spread the message of respect, diversity, inclusion, equality and civic peace for all Azusa.

Working together with local leaders to create an environment that is safe for all Azusa residents is a top priority. As your Council Member, I will work with the Azusa Police Department and local leaders to spread the message that Azusa is a safe, welcoming city with a big heart.

As a member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees(AFSCME) for over 28 years, I have an understanding that good jobs, benefits, fair wages, and a safe work environment provide a better quality of life.

I am President of AFSCME, Local 3672, Executive Administrative Assistants, and have served as an officer for over 12 years. I believe when people come to the table to work together with integrity towards a viable solution, it is a win-win for everyone. I am also Vice President to AFSCME Council 36, Executive Board. We represent over 23,000 members and I serve in a leadership capacity as a liaison to 4 Local Unions.

I promoted through the ranks to Executive Administrative Assistant with the City of Los Angeles. I understand the dynamics within a municipal agency and the political process. I have worked closely with elected and appointed officials and staff which has provided me unique insights. These qualities makes me a strong candidate to serve as a member of the Azusa City Council

I am co-founder of the Public Works High School Internship Program (PWHip). The PWHip integrated classroom learning with work-based experience and exposed area high school juniors and seniors to career options in architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental engineering, and other related fields. Being Program Manager of the PWHip allowed me the opportunity to provide youth with hands-on job experience and exposure to work ethics. Our team of private and public partners including the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and LAUSD created opportunities for many and was life changing for our youth. As a Member of Azusa City Council, I will bring my expertise and partnering skills to Azusa to enhance opportunities that benefit our youth and community.

I spent 16 years in the Bureau of Sanitation in various positions, from supervision to management. I worked in refuse collection, solid resources, recycling and engineering, construction services, and administration.

I am a hard worker, a team player, and work comfortably with management, appointed and elected officials. I have collaborated with my peers to streamline procedures for efficiency which improved processes that better meets the needs of our constituents. I have over 28 years of experience within the Department of Public Works and have worked a variety of positions that gives me a breadth and depth of experience in municipal affairs.

We are all stakeholders when it comes to service. Providing excellent customer service to residents and businesses is top priority. My extensive work experience is key to my role as an Azusa Council Member. I may not always have the answer but I will do my best to provide you with the direction needed to address your concern.

Azusa is my passion. Although I am Chair of the Human Relations Commission now, I am willing to give 100% of my time to all Azusa. I am a public servant. I have advocated for our youth, seniors, and our community. I want to maintain current levels of services and improve processes where necessary. I will take a stand to protect the rights of all residents of Azusa. My goal is to provide accessibility, accountability, and action for all residents of 91702.

I believe the seat for City Council should evolve and revolve. We should keep Azusa moving forward and in order to do that, change is needed.

On March 3rd, vote for Diana Reyes Williams for Azusa City Council.
