Having served as a Department of Water and Power Commissioner, our Commission was the first to be charged with Renewable Energy Goals, 20% Renewable Energy by 20/20.-In an effort to achieve 20% Renewable Energy by 20/20, on of the successful projects that I am most proud of was the design and building of the Pine Tree Wind Project in California's Tehachapi Mountains. The Pine Tree Wind Project was the first of its kind for Los Angeles and provides power for thousands of Southern California households. To support the need for jobs, Forescee Hogan-Rowles led the effort to host a one-day Recruitment and Hiring Job Fair in South Los Angeles--an effort that had not be done in over 30 years. More than 3000 job seekers attended the overwhelmingly successful job fair, where many landed jobs that day. |
