Create a process for decision-making that is more efficient, transparent and professional.
The current City Council has fired its third City Managers in the last 18 months, requiring huge expenditures from the City general fund to pay off their contracts. If the decision-making were done correctly and all policies and procedures adhered to by the Council, this should not happen so frequently. I would review all relevant City codes to insure that the proper procedures are being followed and adhered to by City decision-makers. This includes following proper meeting etiquette and time constraints in order be more respectful of staff, residents, and those seeking to do business with the City. Making decisions past 11:00 p.m. at City Council meetings is not practical nor does it allow for proper feedback from all stakeholders.
