Biographical Information

John and Lori Ebiner have been married for 30 years. They have four children + Christine, 27, Philip, 25, Beth, 23, and Anthony, 13.

John and Lori moved to San Dimas in 1985. They chose a house near Pioneer Park because they liked old houses and it was close to downtown. On their first anniversary they went to the Walker House, then known as The Mansion, for a very fancy dinner. John, Lori, and their family still live in the historic part of town "within walking distance of everything".

John was born in Santa Monica, lived in L.A. for two years, and grew up near La Puente. He went to Bishop Amat High School and graduated from Cal Poly with a history degree. After college he made pizzas, was a substitute high school teacher, and played keyboards in a rock band. Currently he is a Senior Applications Analyst for Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, where he has worked for 33 years.

In San Dimas John has been Vice President of the Pioneer Park H.O.M.E. Association (1980's), a member of the San Dimas General Plan Advisory Committee (1988-1990), and on the City Council (1990-present). He is Council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Commission and is on the Gold Line Station Design & Art Review Committee. John is currently Mayor Pro Tem.

John and Lori have been actively involved in church and school activities, serving on the St. Louise de Marillac school parent board, the 1999 parish building campaign committee, and as chairs of the 2000 Carnival. They are now members of Our Lady of the Assumption parish and put on the school's successful 2009 Parent Social fundraising event. At one time or another John has been involved in Cub Scouts and coaching Little League.

Memberships include the San Dimas Historical Society, San Dimas Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Club, Nature Conservancy, and American Farmland Trust.

Among John's interests are spending time with his family, music, movies, family trips, gardening, sports, politics, pets, old houses, and San Dimas.
