Growth is necessary for a community to thrive, but that growth has to make sense.A Real Estate Broker who mentored me when I first got into the business, once made a comment that Glendorans have a love affair with their homes. This is still true today. When you think of Glendora, you think of California bungalows, ranch style Homes, large estates. You do not think of high-rise apartments and three-story condos with tandem garages. Growth is necessary for a community to thrive, but that growth has to make sense. If builders cannot build properties profitably based on the guidelines we have in place, we are dealing with the wrong developers. No variance or exceptions should be offered to a builder that is not available to a Glendora citizen. We all agreed to abide by these ordinances, so the City Council should never have allowed the variances granted for these recent developments. |
