Scott Houston is running to represent District 4 on the Board of Directors of West Basin Municipal Water District in the election to be held November 4, 2014. District 4 includes the cities of El Segundo, Culver City, West Hollywood and Malibu, and the unincorporated County areas of Topanga, Marina del Rey, North Ladera Heights, View Park, Windsor Hills, Lennox, Wiseburn and Del Aire.

Scott has lived in the district nearly two decades and has been an active leader in both his community and the greater Los Angeles area. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Tree Musketeers, a youth-led environmental organization that plants trees throughout El Segundo while teaching young people valuable leadership skills. Scott also served a four-year term on the City of El Segundo's public works committee evaluating infrastructure projects for the city budget process. He began his involvement in El Segundo as a host and reporter for the City's community cable channel covering local events and businesses.

Scott is an environmental impact manager in the manufacturing and printing industry and has previous experience in the field of public relations. He graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and studied broadcast journalism at UCLA.
