Scott Houston is committed to providing safe, reliable water to residents and industry.

Providing a safe and reliable water supply is a vital aspect of our community's infrastructure. During these times of uncertainty, Scott Houston is committed to keeping our water safe, meeting our water supply needs, and keeping our water rates low.

Scott will advocate for the efficient use of water throughout theWestBasinservice area and examine new ways to decrease our dependence on imported water from Northern California and theColorado River.

Scott will grow education and community outreach efforts across District 4 by working with city councils, school districts, businesses and community partners throughout the district to advance the work ofWestBasin.

Scott will publicizeWestBasin's programs and incentives that promote water conservation through traditional methods and via social media. These include promoting rebates and exchange programs such as low-flow toilets, rain barrels, soil moisture sensors and turf removal. Scott will explore expansion opportunities ofWestBasin's water recycling capabilities. Producing approximately 45 million gallons a day of recycled water, the world-renowned Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility located inEl Segundo,California, is an asset to our district. It has the potential for future expansion to both help meet the water supply needs of our district while also lowering the volume of secondary treated sewage water that is presently being discharged into thePacific Ocean.

Scott is committed to long-term solutions and will work with our state, county and regional partners to implement infrastructure projects that capture storm water runoff before it enters our waterways and poses a risk to public health and fouls our open spaces.
