Susan has been both an entrepreneur and business owner; as well as a startup and private company attorney and counselor. Susan originally co-founded a software company, which grew to employ 100 people prior to its successful acquisition. Susan then entered the legal field to help other entrepreneurs to startup and successfully run their companies. Susan has over 15 years of experience in counseling small companies to run and grow their enterprises.

In addition, Susan is a recognized speaker in the area of legal advice for startups + having guest lectured for several years at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and taught a course in Business and Legal Issues of Startups, as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law.

Two years ago, Susan was appointed by the Oakley City Council to be the Council's liaison to the Ironhouse Sanitary District. Susan has regularly attended the Sanitary District board meetings and provided notes and feedback to the Oakley City Council regarding District activities. Susan is well-versed in the District's issues and fully prepared to assume all District Director responsibilities.
