Jason Paguio is a first generation American born of Filipino immigrants. His father served for 30 years in the United States Navy, retiring at the rank of Master Chief, and his mother was a graduate of a US accredited University in the Philippines, and is a lab technician at Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Jason Paguio is the founder of educational and public charity nonprofit organizations, is a managing partner of a manufacturing/assembly company, and was a music teacher at Eastlake High School for nearly a decade.

As a nonprofit director, Jason helped to create Chula Vista's largest parade/festival--without taxpayer dollars. The annual "Salute to Our Veterans" awards school scholarships for community involvement.

As a business leader, Jason was nominated and selected to be a member of the Public Leadership Institute in affiliation with the San Diego Business Leadership Alliance. He is twice the recipient of the "Pacesetter of the Year" Award and is endorsed by the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce.

As a four time World Champion Drum Major and Global Ambassador (first American in over 100 years to win World Championships in Scotland), Jason has represented Chula Vista, performing and teaching in South Africa, Japan, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and throughout the United States.

Jason has a strong reputation as a community leader and serves as the Vice Chair of the Cultural Arts Commission for the City of Chula Vista, is a Founding Member and Grants Selection Committee Member for the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation, serves on the Board of the South Bay Alliance for Arts Education, serves on the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce International Business Committee, serves on the Holiday Bowl and Poinsettia Bowl RedShirt Committees, and served on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Chula Vista Public Library Strategic Vision Plan.

His experiences as a city commissioner, business owner, nonprofit director, teacher, worldwide performer and competitor, and consummate community volunteer, give Jason great perspective and understanding of how all components of the city can work together to creatively utilize of all of its resources. Jason is ready to serve as our next Chula Vista City Council Member and is among the next generation of leaders that can bring Chula Vista Forward to make this our dream city.
