Cameron Johnson was born and raised in the Bay Area and has built a distinguished career in business and public service.

Cameron serves as Chairman of the San Carlos Economic Development Advisory Commission, which provides strategies for how to improve the City's business climate. In 2012, he helped San Carlos re-prioritize its economic development plan following the dissolution of its Redevelopment Agency.

Cameron also serves as Chairman of the San Mateo County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Recovery Commission, which oversees the county's efforts to help people suffering from mental illness and addiction.

As a strong supporter of public education, Cameron was a member of the campaign committee to support school bond Measure H, which passed in 2012 with 67% of the vote, and will provide $72 million to improve San Carlos schools.

After graduating from college, he served as a Legislative Assistant to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Oregon, focusing on issues such as transportation, energy, crime prevention, and the environment. His policy accomplishments include brokering a deal between a timber company and the National Park Service to increase the size of a National Park on Oregon's coast.

Cameron currently works at Netflix, where he is Director of Product Innovation. He leads a team of designers and engineers to build and test improvements to the Netflix service. Prior to Netflix, Cameron was a Director of Product Management at Yahoo.

Cameron has an MBA from Stanford Business School and a BA in political science from Reed College, where he received a scholarship for research in public policy.

Cameron and his wife Celina have a two-year-old daughter named Josephine, and a two-month-old son named Ellis.
