Nothing is more important than educating and empowering California's youth. higher education system, and I'm proud to be raising my daughters here. I understand the challenges facing our schools and I'm committed to giving our teachers, administrators, and students the resources they need to succeed.
California should once again be known as the public education capital of the world with the resources and learning environments that contribute to a vibrant and flourishing economy. This begins with a quality public education system that provides students with the tools they need to reach their highest potential + intellectually challenging curriculum, state of the art technology, great teachers, and the preparation they need for college and the workforce.

I am a product of California's public high school and higher education system, and I'm proud to be raising my daughters here. I understand the challenges facing our schools and I'm committed to giving our teachers, administrators, and students the resources they need to succeed. As a former substitute teacher, I've seen firsthand how teachers can impact the future of our children. My wife, Blair, also works as a teacher librarian at Milikan Middle School in Sherman Oaks.

As your State Assemblymember, I will support:

  • Increasing funding and accountability for education at every level + preschool through college.

  • Protecting every aspect of education, including arts programs, physical education, science education, and libraries.

  • Expanding access to job training and workforce development programs.

  • Developing a plan for long-term financial sustainability for our public higher education system. * Easing transfers from Community Colleges to CSUs and UCs.

  • Giving students tools to better navigate and pay back their loans.

  • Reducing the high costs of textbooks.

  • Encouraging ties between universities and local industries to give students a path to employment.

  • Improving public transportation access to colleges and encouraging affordable housing in walking or biking distance from campuses.
