Virginia Lopez has resided in Escondido for more than ten years. In 2005, Ms. Lopez started her law practice in downtown Escondido. She practices primarily in the area of bankruptcy and creditor law, real estate and consumer protection. She is also a licensed real estate broker.

Ms. Lopez attended the entire public school system in the Ramona Unified School District. In 1985, after graduating from High School, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served four years. She also served three years active duty reserve while attending college. She obtained her Associates degree from Palomar College. In 1992, she transferred to UC, San Diego and obtained her bachelor's degree in Political Science. In 1999, she obtained her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.

Ms. Lopez' has always had an interest in the education of our students. While attending college she worked for UC San Diego's Early Academic Outreach Program where she would meet with high school students regarding the college entrance requirements. After college, Ms. Lopez worked in outreach at California State San Marcos where she would provide information to parents and students about the CSU entrance requirements. Ms. Lopez is a past tutor of the Escondido Adult Literacy services program and she has volunteered for the Escondido Public Library's Friends of Literacy program.

Ms. Lopez is currently a Director for the North San Diego County Bar Association and is the chair of the People's Law School Committee which provides education to the public in partnership with the Escondido Adult School. In addition, Ms. Lopez volunteers at the annual Youth In Court Day and Law Week activities.
