Business Growth which will create jobs and generate Tax income

By Carol A "Red" Sullivan

Candidate for Council Member; City of Menifee; Council District 1

This information is provided by the candidate
Business growth is needed to generate jobs in the community and generate sales tax and property tax income
We need smart and senseable business growth in the city that will ensure jobs for both blue and white collar jobs. Current the residents in Menifee who have a GED or higher are at 17% leaving 83% of the residents with a GED or lower education. This indicates that there is a need for blue collar works; which shows the need for more retail and commerical jobs. The 215 corrider is designated as the Economic Development corrider for these types of jobs and businesses. The city needs to encourge more resturants, small businesses, and professional offices for our city to grow and employ our residents.

White Collar jobs will follow once the City has the ammenties to substain the employees and encourage them to buy homes, attend schools, and live in Menifee. White Collar employees will increase the property sales, property tax and enhance the rural part of our City by these professionals buying the estate property of 1 - 5 acres.

Once we as a city have created the retail, commerical businessess and eventually the professional jobs the sales taxes will increase, the property tax will increase causing the city to even more stable finanically than it is currently. People with higher education (under graduate and high) will want to live here as the city moves forward and the companies like Abbott, HP will come once the City can show that that there are more than 17% of the residents with a higher education.

Slow, stable, reasonable and consist business growth will create jobs and increase the sales tax.
