By Mark Schwing

Candidate for Council Member; City of Yorba Linda

This information is provided by the candidate
OCSD will provide 20.78% more patrol hours than the current Brea PD Contract and save Yorba Linda Millions
The patrol coverage by the Orange County Sheriff's department will provide 20.78% more patrol hour coverage than Brea PD's current contract.

The OCSD will provide 21 patrol deputies, 4 patrol sergeants, 3 motor officers and a full time Chief of Police Services when they begin to service Yorba Linda. These 28 poistions are part of a 40 position planned service level for Yorba Linda. The contract cost for the first year is $9.2 Million or $2.2 Million less than the Brea contract at $11.4 Million.

The number of Sheriff patrol cars on duty will vary from a low of 5 to a high of 11 and will average nearly 8 at any one time.

The Sheriff's department officer will come on shift and go off shift at the Yorba Linda Police Station on Yorba Linda Blvd. near San Antonio. There will be no lost patrol hours as is today with Brea officers transiting back and forth to Brea.

It must be noted that all seven cities in Ornage County with a lower crime rate than Yorba Linda are all patrolled by OCSD.
