Candidate for
Director; Methacton School District

This information is provided by the candidate

I have been a resident of Worcester Township since moving from the DC metro area in 2005. My husband continues work with the Department of Justice. I have two children in the Methacton School District. My volunteerism includes a variety of positions within the Home and School organization (committee chairperson, President, and co-leader of the District Council). I also participate in many district-wide committees (Anti-Bullying, Safety, Strategic Planning) and provide Security leadership for the Post Prom celebration. My entire professional career was spent in public service. I took great pride in that service and am grateful for the wide range of experiences I had with professional staff from all over the world. I served as Associate Warden (AW) at the Federal Correctional Center in Chicago, IL., and at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, NY., after rising through the ranks from my first role, that of Correctional Intern (1977). As an AW, I was responsible to oversee all aspects of daily prison operations and programs. As Chief of Internal Affairs, I oversaw all agency allegations of staff misconduct as directed by the Justice Department's Inspector General. At that time the agency employed 34,000 staff. My work unit members were in-place responders during the 9/11/01 terrorist strike on the Pentagon. I traveled internationally to bring American prisoners home from foreign incarcerations. Since my retirement, I was employed as a sub-contractor for the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration / Customs Enforcement. Just this month, I learned my company was not awarded the government contract and as of next week, I will be unemployed.
