ED GALLO + BIO

Born and raised in New Jersey my family and I moved to Escondido in 1973 due mainly to the uniqueness and location of the community. I continued working as a retail store manager and began work as a real estate professional in 1976 currently working with Hanson Real Estate Commercial Group.

I am a US Army veteran serving from 1964 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. Awards included Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifelman award. Tours of duty included XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg NC, I Corps Headquarters, Camp Red Cloud, South Korea and USARECSTA, Fort Bliss, TX. While in Korea I was a member of the Bullseye Masquers amatuer theater group doing productions presented at various military installations in South Korea and on Armed Forces Network TV.

Higher education included Rutgers University, North Carolina State University, UTEP and Palomar College.

My children all attended Escondido schools and I am the proud 'grampa' of four beautiful granddaughters.

I have served on numerous civic committees, the Downtown Revitalization Committee, Transportation Commission and Vehicle Parking District, Planning Commission and as your councilman.

The United States Jaycees awarded me their highest honor of US Jaycee Ambassador after serving as President of the Escondido Jaycees. In business I was President of the Middletown NJ Merchants Association and he Escondido Village Mall Merchants Association. Current memberships include Rotary Club of Escondido, JB Clark Post 149 American Legion, NSDCAR Commercial and The Escondido Republican Club.
