Candidate for
Council Member; City of Escondido

My political philosphy can best be stated with the following:

1. SMALLER GOVERNMENT. We cannot continue to protect jobs when we should be protecting the taxpayers.
2. LESS TAXES. We must reduce the burden on the taxpayers of Escondido. Additionally, we have to look at our existing fee schedules and make a concerted effort to reduce the cost of bringing businesses into Escondido. In this economic downturn new businesses are looking for locations that have lower costs of locating and relocating a business. Fees/taxes are increased under the guise of being able to provide services for Escondido residents when in fact those increases are to perpetuate the increasing payroll.
3. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. I will work to re-instate our Economic Development Department whose function is to contact and attract higher paying jobs into Escondido. This includes an aggressive marketing program.
4. PENSION REFORm. We cannot continue to spend our limited resources on the increasing cost of employee pensions.
