  • A long time resident of Montecito (moved to Montecito in 1970, returned in 2002)
  • Educated at Cold Spring, Montecito Union and Laguna Blanca Schools
  • B.A. from UC Davis; law degree from Hastings College of the Law
  • 17 years of experience representing technology companies, with focus on corporate law and technology licensing
  • At Montecito Union, served on school site council, chaired and volunteered for numerous PTA events, and volunteered in classrooms
  • Married to Carissa Smith; parents of daughter in 8th grade at SBJHS (attended Montecito Union from K-6), and son in 4th grade at Montecito Union
