Candidate for
Board Member; Montecito Union School District

Edward (Ted) Urschel is a successful corporate and licensing attorney who grew up in Montecito and attended Cold Spring, Montecito Union and Laguna Blanca schools. He and his wife Carissa Smith have two children who have attended Montecito Union; their daughter is now in eighth grade at Santa Barbara Junior High School, and their son is in fourth grade at Montecito Union. Ted has been an active parent at Montecito Union School for over eight years, served on the school site council, chaired and volunteered for numerous PTA events, and volunteered in the classroom. Based in part on his long history of involvement in Montecito and at Montecito Union, 15 current and former Montecito Union board members and four current Santa Barbara Board of Education members support Ted's candidacy, as do many long time Montecito residents.
