Water industry insiders blame the drought for declining water supplies. The truth is there has been a lack of planning and foresight regarding infrastructure and reliability within the culture of the water industry.
This is typical when insider bureaucrats are allowed to maintain comfortable positions, bragging about low water rates with an irresponsible disregard for typical climate fluctuations and emergency scenarios.
The fact is we have less than a 7 day supply of water, and in the event of an earthquake we would be in a dire emergency.
We need to stop their current plan to set your water quota based upon a satellite photo of your home, and to fine and jail those that exceed these arbitrary quotas of water.
With the right management, we can keep water rates relatively low, yet increase reliability and supply.
