Richard William Faher (born December 20, 1957) is an American veteran, businessman, Republican Party politician, and a resident of the Orange County in the 4th district for over 14 years.

Faher was raised in southwest Michigan and served in the United States Air Force from 1977 to 1981. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration majoring in Management Information Systems with a minor in Accounting. Richard has over twenty-five years work experience as a software application consultant in the private sector. He has worked in 45 of the 50 states in the United States. He has also worked extensively in Canada and Mexico. Richard Faher conservatively estimates that he has worked in over one thousand different companies, working with over ten thousand different individuals consulting on application software.

Richard Faher ran in the special primary election for the 72nd Assembly District on November 17, 2009, but lost to Chris Norby. This special primary election was held after "Open Mike" Duvall resigned September 10th, 2009. On November 17th, 2009 John Kobylt and Ken Champiou (John and Ken), the famed talk radio hosts, endorsed Richard Faher in his run for the 72nd Assembly District during an on air interview. John and Ken endorsed Richard Faher because he supports a California part-time legislature. In February 2010, the Orange County Register editorial board also endorsed the idea of a California part-time legislature. He is viewed as a "Conservative Republican" as he has never solicated or accepted public sector union campaign money. He believes that you cannot effectively negotiate with public sector employee unions after accepting campaign funds. He has also never accepted trail lawyer campaign money. He believes that Republicans cannot accept trail lawyer money and be "tough on crime" or be for the massive tort reform that Californa so desperately needs. He is currently running for the Orange County Board of Supervisors 4th District seat.

Richard Faher married Diane Dutton in 1996 and has two daughters Kathleen and Laurel. Dr. Diane Faher is a pediatrician at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). He is a member of the Placentia United Methodist Church.
