Candidate for
US Representative; District 3

This information is provided by the candidate

Born in Fenton Missouri in 1968, Chris Sander has become an example of what can be accomplished by hard work and sheer determination.

He graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1986 and went on to attend classes at various community colleges in Missouri and California. Although never having earned a degree, Chris knew that personal ambition, a strong work ethic and faith in God would overcome any challenge he faced.

In 1989, at the age of 21, he accepted a position with a national office supply company, where he was quickly promoted into upper management and eventually oversaw the redesigning of their retail outlets in both the US and Canada.

In 1995, he accepted an Executive Vice President position with a St. Louis financial firm. Taking the knowledge and experience he gained from his former positions, he not only brought the company back into profitability, but he developed a large customer base that is still loyal to him to this day.

At age 30, with the support of former clients and encouragement from several Fortune 500 companies, Chris broke out on his own and formed IMS Mortgage Services, LLC.

Over the years, Chris has developed a reputation for being a servant of the people, by helping many middle and lower income families achieve the American dream of homeownership. But he also had a reputation of being an unshakable leader, "who was driven by what was right rather than what was popular".

Because of this leadership ability, he was appointed to the Executive Board of the Missouri Association of Mortgage Brokers, where he has held several offices including President.

During his term as President, Chris was a huge proponent for professional ethics and consumer protection. He has worked with several state and federal legislators including Charles Portwood (R-Missouri) and Jim Talent (R-Missouri), and has fought for state legislation that would require all mortgage originators to be licensed and have ongoing education.

He also took his fight to Washington, DC and with the help of Jim Talent (R-Missouri), lobbied against predatory lending.

In 2000, Chris and his wife, Kelly, were married and they now have two small children.
