Convention Center

By Larry Dean Montgomery

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Fremont

This information is provided by the candidate
Fremont would benefit from a convention center complex located next to the proposed Cisco Field ballpark and theme village.
Having a convention center located here in Fremont makes good economic sense. The increased tax revenue will help balance the city's budget. Fremont is a good location for a convention center for several reasons. The fact that we are located between Oakland and San Jose is good. Both of those city's have convention centers. Because Fremont has a much lower crime rate and better services we would be a better choice for a convention center. Any additonal traffic going to the convention center and ballpark areas can be easily solved. By adding BART shuttles and if needed a new off ramp from 880, we could make the convention/ballpark experience very pleasant. I truely cannot see any reason why a convention center would not be good for Fremont. I am willing and ready to do the hard work envolved with bringing a convention center to Fremont. Please vote for me if you want the best for Fremont.
