Balanced Budget

By Larry Dean Montgomery

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Fremont

This information is provided by the candidate
The city must have a balanced budget. Without raising taxes the only choice is to bring more businesses to Fremont.
At this point in time, Fremont's Economic Development Department should be very busy. I can tell you that they are not. Fremont needs to lure more business here than ever before. Two thirds of Fremont's residents work outside the city. Bringing businesses here does more than generate tax revenue it also reduces our carbon footprint. Less traveling by our residents means a cleaner enviroment for everybody. We need business luring expert's working in the Economic Development Department. I propose more oversight of the EDD. I also propose that this should be Fremont's highest priority. Fremont needs to be more business friendly and accomidating. Bringing more businesses to Fremont will help us balance the city budget without raising taxes.
