Kelly McCarty is an experienced community leader and businesswoman with the spirit, energy, and commitment to make a positive difference in the State Assembly.

As the mother of two, she will work passionately to make California a place with the sort of opportunities that have been the foundation of the American dream. This dream consists of safe communities; good schools, and less government involvement in the daily lives of citizens.

A native Southern Californian, Kelly grew up in Upland, was a Bluebird, Brownie, and Girl Scout. In high school, she joined the Young Republicans, ran for class president and was a star soccer player.

Kelly combined four years of college at UC Riverside and UCLA. During summer breaks in college, she worked at her father's auto body shop in Hollywood, where she learned the skills of the trade. Later, Kelly started her own successful auto body shop, Carty's Collision Center.

As a small business owner, Kelly has grown Carty's Collision Center into an industry leader. Now with 18 employees, Carty's is in the top ten percent of collision repair shops in America. Kelly has been recognized as one of the most influential women in her industry. She served as president of the California Autobody Association, and in 1998 was voted "member of the year."

Many elected officials talk about the impact of taxes and illegal immigration in theoretical or academic terms. Kelly is a business owner that has lived with the problems created by these issues every day. Her two decades of business executive experience will serve the people of Riverside well in the State Assembly.

Kelly is supported by a broad coalition of families and businesses from all over California. They are supporting her candidacy because she will bring her common sense pro-business agenda to Sacramento on behalf of all working Californians.
