In 1979 in a search for freedom and better opportunities, the Arabo family immigrated to San Diego from Baghdad, Iraq. In 1996, Auday experienced one of the proudest moments of his life when he was sworn in as a naturalized Citizen of the United States of America.

As a lifelong San Diegan, Auday graduated from Valhalla High School and Grossmont Junior College before transferring to San Diego State University where he graduated Magna cum Laude. He later attended California Western School of Law where he earned his law degree and settled into a career as a criminal prosecutor.

After serving in the San Diego District Attorney's office, he returned to his roots in the retail business and community service sector. He became President and CEO of Neighborhood Market Association (previously known as California Independent Grocers & Convenience Stores), where he worked closely with law enforcement, and city officials to ensure that our communities were safer and local businesses thrived. Throughout his career, Auday has remained committed to the community by volunteering countless hours to many boards and organizations, such as the San Diego County Crime Commission, where as Chairman, he earned the praise of law enforcement and the gratitude of crime victims and business leaders.

With a unique blend of experience in government, private and public sector, Auday will bring balanced, independent and creative leadership to the 78th Assembly District to:

A) Ensure that our neighborhoods are safe B) Ensure a better quality of life for our community C) Ensure that every voice in the community is heard

As an Assemblymember, Auday Arabo will make sure that the residents of the 78 Assembly District get their fair share from Sacramento.
