Expanding access to affordable health care

By Tom Myers

Candidate for US Representative; District 3; Democratic Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Tom believes health care is a right, not a privilege, and that all Americans deserve the same high quality and affordable health care that members of Congress receive. But the Bush Administration's misplaced priorities have resulted in millions being added to the list of uninsured and an increased health care costs for countless others. Tom will fight to make quality healthcare affordable, accessible, and portable for all Americans, with basic services including wellness and prevention, prescription drug care, and mental health without pre-existing condition exclusions.

Tom strongly believes that reforming the Medicare prescription drug benefit plan is critical. He will stand up to big drug and insurance companies who unfairly benefit on the backs of our low and fixed income seniors and disabled. And Tom will fight to protect Social Security for our working families and seniors, and oppose risky privatization plans.
