I have been a Rye resident since the summer of 2001, when my family returned to the US after having lived in Germany for 8 years. I am the proud father of three children all of whom presently attend Rye's elementary schools.
During my first term on the Board (2004-2007), I have
- Chaired the Enrollment Balance Committee (2006-2007)
- Chaired the Finance and Budget Committee (2006-2007)
- Served on the Audit Committee (2006-2007)
- Served as Rye's delegate to the New York State School Board Association convention (Oct '06)
- Served on the New York State School Board Association's Task Force on Retirement Benefits (2006)
- Chaired the Budget Analysis Committee (2005-2006)
- Served on the Technology Committee (2005-2006)
- Served on the Facilities committee (2004-2005, 2005-2006)
- Served on the Curriculum Council (2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007).
I am also working on Rye's Trailways and Traffic Safety committee focused on identifying issues and proposing solutions for getting our children safely to and from the city's schools.
