I have lived in Moreland my entire life, attended Moreland schools, and am a mother of three children currently attending Moreland: one in the preschool, one in elementary, and one in middle school. As such, I have a unique appreciation and understanding for our students', parents', and community's needs. Prior to my decision to stay home to raise my family, I gained extensive corporate experience in managing employees, establishing budgets, project management, contract negotiations, and customer service. Since then, I've used the skills I developed in my career to make a difference in our school district, as a volunteer.

My experience in our district has provided me an in-depth understanding of Moreland. Most recently, I received an appointment to the Moreland School Board in January 2006. Admittedly, I joined our Board at a challenging time, but I am excited about and focused on our future. I have served as PTO president for the past two years for Payne Elementary and have worked closely with teachers, administrators, and parents. I led a dramatic increase in: parent participation, fund-raising efforts, implementation of new volunteer run - curriculum based student enrichment programs, home, school, and local business collaboration, class room/ staff support, and the alignment of Home and School partnership with our School Improvement plan. I was elected Volunteer of the year by school staff twice and served on District PTO President's Council. I currently serve on the Moreland Educational Foundation Board, School Site Council Board, Facilities Coordinating Committee, and Community Board Advisory Council. I am also the founder and President of the San Tomas West Neighborhood Association. As an active participant and successful leader of numerous volunteer school, district, and community organizations, I have demonstrated my unconditional commitment to our children and our community. Most importantly, I have been effective in these roles; delivering measurable results.
