Immigrating to the Los Angeles area as a teenager, Stephen Sham attended Daniel Murphy High School in Los Angeles, and then Cal State L.A., graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. For the last fourteen years, he has owned and operated Plaza Printing in Alhambra with his wife Rebecca.

Stephen is committed to the City of Alhambra, as seen in his wide and far-ranging service to the community over the past several years. As an immigrant, he saw the importance of becoming involved in local service and community organizations and has enthusiastically participated in and led them.

Currently, he is a member of the City of Alhambra Planning Commission, the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce (Executive Board Member), the West San Gabriel Valley YMCA (Board Member), and the Alhambra Historical Society (Trustee). He was Centennial Club President of Rotary Club of Alhambra in 2004-2005.

Stephen and Rebecca live in the historic artist colony of Alhambra with their 9-year-old daughter, Kristie, and enjoy family activities, stamp collecting, and travel.
