How can I help?

I have been active in politics for many years. I was a Los Angeles County, City of West Hollywood board appointee in 2001. I have worked on city council campaigns as well as my last bid for the Los Angeles Community College District, Board of Trustees in 2005 when I recieved over 43% of the vote. I have endorsed candidates and contributed to them.

During this past year, I worked closely with Families to Amend California's Three Strikes Law to bring some sensibility to this horrendous law which imprisons mostly poor people and poor people of color for 25 years to life for non-violent, nonserious offenses.

I am a Democrat with an eye on issues that will affect the environment. I am a constant active volunteer and an animal welfare campaigner, volunteering for the American Cancer Society and Best Friend's Catnipppers.

I have contributed to Jimmy & Rosalyn Carter's Habitat for Humanity International, American Lung Association, National Institutes of Health and the Medical Research Program of the Department of Defense to fund Breast Cancer research, Federal Emergency Management Agency: America Responds/Heroes to provide assistance to the families of emergency relief personnel who died or were permanently disabled in the line of duty in connection with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, West Hollywood Veteran's Memorial, Pet Orphans Fund, Defender's of Wildlife, ASPCA, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Butterfly Gardeners Association, In Defense of Animals, AAVS-American Anti-Vivisection Society, Oceana, Air Force One and Save the Children.

As a candidate for Member of the State Assembly Forty- Second District, I will improve education by promoting higher academic standards and provide schools more flexibility in spending education aid for teachers. I support state healthcare and Senator Khuel's SB840 for state healthcare. I ensure my constituents I support Nurse/Patient Ratio Rights. I support women's health care and breast cancer education and awareness as well as HIV/AIDS advocacy, education and awareness. I support funding for homless shelters. I am an animal welfare campaigner and I know our society need legislation passed for more criminal penalties for cruelty to animals. I support suspensions of executions in California. I support domestic partnerships and I have been supporting the Clean Money Elections Act.
