Education is the answer! Health and education are priorities! Our children are our future!

Knowledge and skills mean a better standard of living for you and those around you. I promote higher academic standards for the residents of Los Angeles County. As the demand for higher education continues to grow, we must be in a position to accommodate the increasing body of students. Equally as important are the choices pertaining to student expansion so that the already strained ecological health of Los Angeles, including water, is not negatively impacted.

With me, environmentalists will strengthen environmental policies in Los Angeles and that households, students, government, and businesses develop sustainability goals through local educational systems and training.

The role of any public servant is to "ensure a better quality of life for all, in a just and equitable manner, whilst living within the limits of supporting ecosystems." (Julian Agyeman, Assistant Professor at Tufts University). As public servants, trustees must develop curriculum and help the community identify and select sustainability goals.

Education essential in many other types of programs, such as public-health efforts to stop the spread of specific diseases, can enlighten policies and government initiatives, and help governments enact sustainable measures. People need basic knowledge from the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities to understand the principles of sustainable development, how they can be implemented, the values involved, and ramifications of their implementation. Training teaches us how to use equipment safely, be more efficient, and comply with regulations. I will encourage business, industry, higher education, governments, nongovernmental organizations and community organizations to be trained to ensure a clean and healthy environment.

I support and will work toward state healthcare. Everyone should have healthcare. 300,000 children in California do not have healthcare. I support Senator Khuel's SB840 for state healthcare. 57,000 people in Los Angeles County are HIV Positive. I support HIV/AIDS education and awareness as well as women's healthcare and breast cancer education and awareness. I will fight for my constituents that the Nurse/Patient Ratio Rights are maintained.

I am an active animal welfare campaigner firmly insistent that legislation is passed for more criminal penalties for cruelty to animals. A public official has the duty to "refine and enlarge the public views," as James Madison said. I am endorsed by the Animal Legislative Action Network.

I have volunteered for Families to Amend California's Three Strikes Law and I will continue to speak out against the unjust and draconian Three Strikes Law. Executions in California need to continue to be suspended. As well, I believe in more funding for homless shelters. I am endorsed by Affiliated People's Alliance.
