I was born in Orange, California, October 10, 1954. I lived in Santa Ana, California until the age of nine, at which time we moved to the City of Orange. I graduated from El Modena High School in 1972. After attending Cal State Fullerton for a short time, I was married in 1973 and began family life and full time work in the Southern California construction business. I completed apprenticeship training with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters in 1977, and was licensed by the State of California as a general building contractor in 1986. While working full time and raising three sons, I was able to accrue about two years of college and university units, from Golden West College, Orange Coast College, and Cal State Fullerton. Part of my study has enabled me to become somewhat fluent in Spanish. Part of my education as a father also included eight years of coaching and refereeing in the local American Youth Soccer League with all three of my sons. If you would ask me what might be my greatest personal accomplishment, I would have to say it was helping my three grown sons find their respective ways to manhood.
