I was born in Fresno, CA and moved to South San Diego County when I was 4 years old. I have been a resident of these parts of South San Diego County for 55 years from Imperial Beach to Chula Vista. I am a graduate of the Sweetwater Union High School District, BA from UCSD and MA from SDSU. As a school teacher, I taught Elementary School for 5 years, Junior High School for 8 years, High School for 2 years, and I am currently employed as an Alternative Education Teacher, 10 years so far.

As a 25 year veteran school teacher, I have come to appreciate the importance of the voice of the electorate (parents and students) and the important participation of broader community involvement both in education and our civic affairs.
