The war in Iraq and the Federal failure of the current Education law, the "No Child Left Behind" legislation, could have been avoided, or atleast improved the way in which they turned out, if we would have been more persistent in cultivating the voice of the electorate and then placing that voice on the path to developing and nurturing a broader community involvement in our education and civic affairs.

I believe that our Democracy, as we know it, in our most beloved country, the United States of America; is today in a period of transition. We can no longer count on our elected officials, whether for good or for personal gain, to do what is right in their respective seats of government.

Whether it be at the local, state or national level, we must increase our political participation at all levels of involvement in government. Why? In order to help guide our elected officials to make the right choices for us. Our country's future depends on it.
