Why I am running for office.

By Pete Babich

Candidate for Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of San Diego; Assembly District 75

This information is provided by the candidate
I realized that if I didn't like what was happening, I had to get personally involved.
I've been a long-time, reliable Democratic voter, but was never politically active. The election of George W. Bush changed that. I saw our country being driven in the wrong direction. The principles and values that made me proud to be an American were being destroyed. I realized that if I didn't like what was happening, I had to get personally involved. I'm confident that if Democrats work together we can return our country to its respected world position. That effort begins right here in San Diego County. As a Central Committee member, I will use my organizational skills to create a community of Democrats that are informed, energized, and active; Democrats that will take our country back from the radical right.
