This information is provided by the candidate
My education, work experience, and life experience will help me contribute to the SDCDP's success.
I was born in Bainbridge GA, but from Jr. High on, I have lived in the San Diego area. I graduated from Granite Hills HS in El Cajon. After high school, I joined the US Navy and served for seven years. While stationed on a submarine in New London CT, I met and married my wife Carol. We have two married sons and two twin daughters that will soon be graduating from college. Our sons have blessed us with four grandchildren with another one on the way.

After leaving the Navy, I obtained a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State and accepted a job with Hewlett-Packard in Rancho Bernardo in 1974. We moved to Poway the same year and have lived in Poway ever since.

I began work at HP as a design engineer and finished seventeen years of employment as one of the seven member senior staff managing a $450M business. In 1991, I left HP to form my own small business that provides consulting, training, and software to help organizations become more effective. I have authored books on business planning and developed business planning software.

Outside of my business life, I have been very involved with the community. I coached youth sports for many years and was a board member in multiple organizations. Recently, I have become more politically active by coordinating precinct work for the 2004 election and becoming a founding member and President of the Poway Democratic Club.
