I was raised in Humboldt County and I am raising my family here. I'm a small business owner and an HSU graduate. I've worked in and around Humboldt Bay for many years as engineer, a researcher and a volunteer. I'm an avid recreational fisherman and board member of Friends of the Dunes.

I am a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the state of California. I hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Francisco State University and an M.S. in Environmental Resource Engineering from Humboldt State University. The title of my masters thesis was "The Efficacy of Ultraviolet Disinfection of Marsh Wastewater Effluent"

I have over fifteen years of experience consulting in the field environmental and ecological engineering. Within this field, I specialize in site planning, evaluation, design engineering and permitting for projects that incorporate strong ecological components and multiple use objectives. I also have significant experience in the development of management plans and CEQA analysis for a variety of projects and developments.

Some of the projects I've worked on have received awards such as the:

· Ecological Society of America's Corporate Award

· Jefferson Development Initiative Founders of the New Northwest's Sustainability Award

· Lewis Mumford Award for Development from Architects, Designers, and Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR)
