I believe that a truly democratic government is a government by the people and for the people. Democracy is in crisis in Sacramento today when party bosses and moneyed interests can tell us who our next representative is going to be. We need to exercise our democratic right to ELECT our next congressional representative. Candidates need to engage in open debates so that the public has the opportunity to understand who the candidate is and what he or she stands for. The only real candidate is the one who is willing to come before the public and express his or her ideology.
