Oppose increasing the sales tax to fund more cops. Jail the guilty cops who killed Devin Brown beat Donovan Jackson and Stanley Miller and who killed the innocent sons of the Martinez, Damion, and Quesada families.The Socialist Workers campaign says, "Not one more penny for cops!" Their job is to defend the interests of big business, including the big business of drugs, and to keep workers in line while the big-time criminals go free. For example, there is hardly a garment shop in the city that pays minimum wage. That's against the law. Nothing is done, yet people selling tamales on the street downtown are shut down and fined. Socialist Workers mayoral candidate Wendy Lyons says, "I am for bringing the cops who have beaten or killed our youth to justice--like the cops who killed 13-year-old Devin Brown or beat Donovan Jackson and Stanley Miller on videotape, or killed the sons of the Martinez, Quesada, or Damion families to name just a few who I've marched with.
