Candidate for
Mayor; City of Dublin

This information is provided by the candidate

Ira Leitner is a senior network engineer, and has been for over 10 years. His travels have led him to Moscow as NASA's Lead Engineer working with the Russian Space Science Agency.

He learned to speak Russian stuck in traffic from Pleasanton to Moffet Field. He's had all the bad commutes in the Bay Area and that's why he's so against traffic.

Ira Leitner is a musician, and a graduate of Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood. He has played from Maine, Cape Cod, Cambridge, New York's Grenwhich Village, Florida, Los Angeles, Dublin and Pleasanton. As Green Valley Music, he has played the last 2 years at the Alameda County Fair, the happiest place on earth.

He has sat in board rooms of major companies and practiced the Leadership, Finance, Organizational Behavior, and yes - politics that come on high level projects for Wells Fargo Bank, Charles Schwab, NASA, and Cisco Systems.

In Pleasanton, he saved Providian $75,000 as senior project manager for their new Bldg D's network.

Among his proudest networks -- putting a network into the New York Stock Exchange through meetings in 1999 at the World Trade Center and NYSE.

A big baseball fan, he played in the Dublin Softball League and Tri Valley Mens Senior League, but promises he'll never allow a ballpark to add to traffic here.

His network experience and Masters Degree brought him classes to teach as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University and the University of San Francisco.

The stop Ikea struggle came in the middle of his attending graduate school at GGU's EMPA program. It was a class on the US Constitution and spoke about Amendment 1 rights - citizens have the right to bring grievences against the government.

Honest government is obtainable. His hero Bob Dylan sums it up in his new biography - "I love liberty and equality and I raised my kids that way."

Ira Leitner is for the envrionment and that is why he is against Ikea - - there is already way too much traffic.

We can do better. This is the 21st century. Let's start getting rid of 20th century problems from old technology and faded ideas.
