Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Ira Leitner

Candidate for
Mayor; City of Dublin

This information is provided by the candidate

Stop the Greenhouse Effect and improve the present unacceptable traffic situation.

Find peace and harmony for one Dublin, a great city that deserves it's rich quality of life.

A philosophy of inclusion instead of exclusion.

This year, the current Dublin City Goverment threw the Day on the Glen festival on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year.

That must never happen again, and we as a city must never make that mistake again for anybody's race, creed, and religion.

The festival was also sponsored by Ikea as well as other companies. We can't be bought off and the issue won't go away after election day.

We of East Dublin have the right to complain about what we believe is detrimental to our quality of life, and was not listed at all on the East Dublin Plan. On a busy 8000 plus vehicle traffic day, all of Dublin, Pleasanton, and Livermore is threatened by the added cars and pollution.

We believe, five people should not have that power to upset an entire valley, and in light of this passionate opposition, the incumbent should not keep saying she'll put Ikea in.

I intend to go 100% by the East Dublin Specific Plan which calls for an artist community where people can work and live here, thus cutting down traffic. A plan that never ever mentions the word Ikea in a parcel zoned for business and office.

I intend to build an ampitheater and turn to the people of Dublin, their creativity, honesty, and integrity to work together to find new ways in bringing money in during an age of permanent government fiscal crisis. Benefit concerts and other fund raisers and build a true artist community where local musicians and artists can get work. Where we can start talking about building a museum and attract hi tech and other company's to Dublin, based on our location near San Francisco and San Jose, and with our BART availability.

Win or lose, we won't stop the battle against Ikea and it's traffic, because it adds to the Greenhouse Effect that threatens our planet.

Win or lose, I will not believe it is devisive to stand up for ones rights and hope my candidacy is an example to everybody that one citizen spurred into action, can make a difference in todays world (especailly with your help and prayers).

To that end, not one cent was collected for this campaign.

There will be no lawn signs approved by me or desired. The issue is more important than me or this campaign. That issue - protect our quality of life and improve traffic. I will always stand up to battle traffic, for I've spent too many wasted years stuck in it.

thank you and all the best, Ira Leitner
