KRISTI MARKEY

Occupation: Public Agency Attorney

At Lozano Smith law firm since 1996, representing public agencies. I consider myself an expert in public agency law, the conduct of public meetings, the Brown Act. I am a skilled negotiator and mediator.

Education and Qualifications: University of California's Hastings College of the Law, J.D. West/Northwest Environmental Law Journal University of New Hampshire, B.A., English.

Prior to law school, I worked as a newspaper reporter and a political aide for a county supervisor in Oakland.

I have lived in Monterey since 1996. I am an enthusiastic hiker and backpacker, enjoying the trails at Garland Regional Park and Ventana Wilderness. The preservation of Monterey's natural ecosystem is a primary concern of mine. I am a member of the Sierra Club, have been active in local environmental issues on the Peninsula.
