Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Donna Warren has emerged as a courageous and tireless voice for human rights and social justice in her community.

A former Defense Department auditor and former president of the L.A. Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), Donna knows how to cut through government waste. As regional coordinator for education, Donna provides educational opportunities in the accounting/auditing field to 20,000 auditors and financial managers.

In 2002, Donna ran for Lt. Governor garnering 300,000 votes based on a platform of "education not prisons".

She started her grassroots activism in 1992 with Mothers ROC (Mothers Reclaiming Our Children). She has gone on to serve with the Coalition for Educational Justice, the L.A. Unemployed Council, and the Bus Riders Union. Working with the Crack the CIA Coalition, she was the lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit against the CIA and the Department of Justice for their role in the introduction of crack cocaine into South Central Los Angeles.

Along with Families to Amend California's Three Strikes (FACTS), Donna vows to amend "3 Strikes" to violent felonies, stop the prison industrial complex, and restore neighborhoods to healthy communities for all of us.

Her priorities include: ensuring that all of us are able to read at grade level; restoring the Governor's budget cuts to the community colleges; and restoring the community college tuition to $11 per unit (from the $24 per unit to be implemented in Fall 2003).
