Amend Three Strikes

Amend the Three Strikes Law to apply only to violent acts such as murder or rape.

Universal Health Care

In America 40,000,000 people are without adequate health care. Universal health care should be a right for all Americans.

A Living Wage

Every worker must receive a living wage. California must provide advanced job training and placement that strengthens our communities now and in the future. Empower unions by repealing the Taft-Hartley Act.

Education

Standardized testing is racist and does not sufficiently evaluate the intelligence or ability of children. It does not address the needs of our kids.

Re-regulate our Energy

Energy belongs to the people, not to the utility companies. Taxpayer dollars should not bail out a private corporation. California needs a publicly owned utility system.

Slavery Reparations

African-Americans must be given reparations if America is to atone for the economic, physical, and psychological damages from slavery and the continued effects.

Death Penalty

Too many innocent people have been killed by our government in order to punish the guilty. Abolish the death penalty and address the social problems that lead to crime.

The War on Drugs

California voters approved medical marijuana twice, yet John Ashcroft's federal army insists on denying terminally ill residents their legal right. It is time to reevaluate and reorganize the losing War on Drugs.

Campaign Finance Reform

Public taxpayer funding for candidates must replace unregulated soft money campaign contributions to political parties or committees.

Transportation

California must ensure adequate transportation for the transit dependent. California must develop a transportation system that takes into account the fragility of our environment.

Environment

Our fragile environment needs to be protected by leaders who do not take money from oil corporations, timber companies and out-of-state power brokers.
