Repeal of the $.18/gal. Federal Gasoline Tax

By Karl W. Dietrich

Candidate for United States Representative; District 49

This information is provided by the candidate
The soaring price of gasoline has put extreme financial pressure on comercial and non-comercial drivers. My opponent Darrell Issa stated in the Notrth County Newspaper that money from this tax should go to improving the Fwy. 5 / Fwy. 78 interchage. However, I think that all drivers would more directly benefit from an end to this tax, given the existing high price of gasoline, and the poor economic statis of our nation. The Federal Government has more than enough money generated from an already all too high, and possibly illegal Federal Income Tax to use for repair and improvement of federal highways. There is no need to further burden drivers in United States with an absurd $.18/gal. Federal Gasoline Tax.
