Closure of secondary alien checkpoints Fwy. 5, 8 and 15

By Karl W. Dietrich

Candidate for United States Representative; District 49

The millions of federal dollar spent maintaing the secondary alien check points at the 5, 8, and 15 freeways are not merited since relatively few aliens are caught at these checkpoints per taxpayer dollar spent. These secondary checkpoints interfere with the normal flow of traffic, and cause gas to be wasted while waiting in long lines, often over a mile long. A friend once told me a interesting story. He was driving toward the Fwy. 5 alien checkpoint, and he saw two men with a gasoline container standing by a car. He decided to help these men, so he stoped, and they climbed in to the back seat of his Volvo stationwagon. Once he was past the Fwy. 5 checkpoint, plus a few exits, they indicated to him to drop them off. As soon as they were out of his car they tossed the gasoline container to the side of the road, having accomplished their objective. This is an example of how easy it for an alien to get past a secondy checkpoint. They are a waste of taxpayer money, and should be closed as promply as possible.
