City Infrastructure

By John Sawyer

Candidate for Member, City Council; City of Santa Rosa

This information is provided by the candidate
Our city's infrastructure (curbs, gutters, streets, traffic management, etc.) has suffered for years. Major attention and resources must be shifted in this direction to maintain our safety and quality of life.
There is a tendancy to take the building and maintenance of our city's infrastructure for granted.

Santa Rosa's capital improvements are costly but essential.

Tough decisions and the willingness to stand behind them is vital during this time of increasing financial needs and decreasing support from many sources.

I also believe in a vibrant and attractive downtown which reflects the pride we all share as members of this community. The heart of our city must remain safe and strong. All successful communities have a popular and exciting downtown attracting residents and visitors alike.

The cultural and financial benefits of a strong and successful city center should not be underestimated.
